REVITALIZATION OF INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE TRANSNATIONAL PHOTO EXHIBITION WITHIN THE PROJECT REFREsh |

MEMORY PHOTOS One of the
activities of the REFREsh project is the presentation of the industrial
heritage of all participating countries in a joint photo exhibition. Five
regions from Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia will be presented
with six photographs each showing their industrial, craft and working
history. The photographs were collected in various ways - by announcing a
competition and selecting the best of the submitted works, or by inviting one
or more proven photographers to take photographs of the industrial heritage
sites. The exhibition will feature a total of 30 photographs and will have a
traveling character, that is, it will be presented in all regions
participating in the project, and the exhibition will also feature artists
from different countries, thus sharing experiences. Due to the pandemic
caused by the coronavirus, the exact date of the exhibition is still unknown,
but it is expected that the photographs will be exhibited during the summer
months. GERMANY Germany is
represented by Albrecht Holländer, a young photographer who represents an old
silver mine in Saxony, whose remains are protected by the UNESCO-protected
cultural property. HUNGARY The industrial heritage of the Hungarian Komlo is represented
by the renowned photographer Balázs Juhász, who presented the old crafts and
industrial heritage with the photo album "The Treasures of
Baranja". The album features six photographs showing a range of trades
and trades that were once an important economic activity of the local
population, and today are more in the function of preserving tradition and
production. ITALY The transnational exhibition of photographs enabled local
amateur photographers of Castello di Godego to express themselves
artistically on the subject of old crafts, abandoned industrial landmarks and
work traditions, and therefore a competition was launched which resulted with
the selection of six photographs by Fabio D'Arsiè, Carlomaria Corradin and
Sabrina Bortollon. The photographs capture various crafts, such as
hairdressing and fishing, but also remnants of industrial heritage, such as
an old sugar factory or port warehouse. SLOVENIA A photographic competition was conducted in Piran, to which
seven authors applied, of which four photographs were selected for the
exhibition, authored by Nataša Fajon, Branko Furlanič and Omar Pakalovič. The
other two photographs are works of Josip Rovišal from the 1960s, which are a
part of the exhibition of the Sergej Mašer Piran Maritime Museum. The photos
show a social game of Mora, a way of leisure and leisure after hard work,
then a woman in a traditional costume who mixes bread in the traditional way,
or picking salt as it was once done in this area. CROATIA The Municipality of Lokve has been choosing photographs over
an open competition called "Old crafts, arts crafts, abandoned
industrial buildings and working customs" to involve a wide range of
artists in the project. 33 authors with 153 photographs applied on the
competition, and an expert committee selected the works of six authors - Neda
Rački, Vanja Pastuhović, Tina Kovač, Dario Dorčić, Goran Grudić and Marko
Buntić. The photographs show Hartera, a former paper factory in Rijeka, then
the remains of a mill along the Rječina watercourse, the renovation of the
former Sugar Palace and the future Rijeka City Museum, the launching ramp of
the former Torpedo factory and a workshop for shipbuilders of traditional
wooden boats. |

industrial areas, Municipalities and regions in Central Europe. The Project will develop benchmarking tools, regional
strategies and test the new approach in five pilot actions. To reach a
critical mass of creative actors and to foster transnational cooperation of
the creative scene the project plans to organise exhibitions, cultural events
and creative workshops. The project is linked to specific objective 3.2 by improving
capacity and valorising of old-industrial heritages and foster integration of
